Employee Spotlight: Curt Sowers

We’d like to recognize Curt Sowers in this month’s Employee Spotlight! Curt has been with Aero Energy for about 6 years and recently completed his HVAC Journeyman Mechanic Certification. This accomplishment represents not only 4 years of hard work, but also reflects the care, commitment and passion that he brings to his craft every single day. We sat down and asked Curt a few questions about his experience earning the certification and his time at Aero Energy:

 Q:  What does it mean to you to have achieved the Journeyman HVAC Mechanic Certification?
A: “It was a big step in my career development and provided further exposure to the commercial side of HVAC.”
 
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: “I love being able to take things apart and rebuild them, but my favorite part of my job is that you never know what you’re going to run into on a service call.”
 
Q: What’s been one of your biggest takeaways over the years at Aero Energy? 
A: “The importance of customer service skills in this trade. Communication is key in having customers return for years to come. If they know your company is willing to fix an older piece of equipment and not be quick to sell something new and expensive, they will trust you to install or fix something again down the road. 
 
Q: What is the next milestone that you have your eye on now that you’ve earned your Journeyman HVAC Mechanic Certification? 
A: “Either a Master HVAC Technician Certification or a Journeyman Plumbing Certification would be the next step.” 
 
Q: How has Aero Energy’s team culture contributed to your success? 
A: “They are very educational. If you’re willing to learn they’ll provide the training needed. If there is ever downtime, they always take advantage of it by pairing you with senior technicians on different job sites.”
